School Umba

Kigwasi Primary School is located in the Umba Valley. The valley, which holds the breathtakingly beautiful Umba gemstones, is home to the miners and original Masai tribes, who send their children to this school. As well as providing support through the installation of water tanks, we also contribute towards the children’s education by providing school supplies and donating towards school fees. Our current project will enable the school to have access to fresh water. Another project planned for the future is the organisation and financing of school lunches, since many children have to travel an extremely long distance to and from school.

We finance these projects – together with other participants in our Africa travels – through the sale of self-mined Umba gems, which we craft into our jewellery pieces.
